The Course of a Group Balloon Flight
A balloon flight with friends or family is the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, bachelor or bachelorette party, family gathering, or simply to enjoy a shared adventure away from everyday life. The entire experience is designed for you to enjoy together – from the very first moment to the last.
We’ll meet at a pre-arranged location, usually near the take-off field selected according to weather and wind direction. After a short safety briefing, you’ll watch the balloon being inflated – within minutes, the fabric lying on the ground turns into a majestic aircraft ready to lift you into the sky.
Once the balloon is ready, you’ll board the basket and set off on an approximately 60-minute scenic flight. During the flight, you’ll enjoy panoramic views, peace and quiet, and the freedom to take photos, videos, and share the experience in total privacy – just your group and the pilot.
After landing, you’ll take part in the traditional first-flight baptism, enjoy a celebratory toast, and receive personalized flight certificates. Finally, our team will take you back to the meeting point or to another agreed location.
The entire experience lasts around 2 to 3 hours and is ideal for both smaller and larger groups – we can even organize multiple balloons flying at once for big events.

Practical Information for a Group Balloon Flight
Season
We fly from April to October, and occasionally outside this period when the weather allows. Flights take place shortly after sunrise or before sunset, when the atmosphere is most stable. Learn more in our Frequently Asked Questions section.
Number of Passengers
For group balloon flights, our smaller basket accommodates 2 to 6 passengers, while the larger one holds 10 to 20 passengers.

Spectators
Spectators are welcome at both take-off and landing. You can also follow the balloon in your own vehicle along with our support team – this often becomes an experience in itself!
Booking
We recommend booking 2 to 4 weeks in advance. The exact date and location can be arranged by phone at +420 733 608 101 or by email at info@flyballoon.cz, or through our booking system.
If the weather conditions are not suitable, you can easily choose an alternative date.
Photography and Recording
You’re free to take photos and videos at any time. Bring your camera, phone, or binoculars – the views are absolutely worth it!
Experience Duration
The flight itself lasts around 60 minutes. Including preparation, landing, balloon baptism, and return transport, the total experience takes approximately 2–3 hours.
Take-Off Location
For group balloon flights, you can choose your own take-off location anywhere in the Czech Republic.

What to Wear
The temperature in the air is usually similar to that on the ground, often even warmer thanks to the heat from the burners – making balloon flights pleasant all year round, even in winter!
We recommend sturdy, ideally waterproof shoes, long trousers, and an extra layer of clothing. There may be dew in the early morning.
Restrictions
- Minimum age: 7 years, minimum height: 120 cm, maximum weight: 119 kg
- Over 120 kg – possible by individual arrangement and with an extra fee
- Must be able to climb over the basket edge (approx. 110 cm; a built-in step is provided) and stand for the entire flight
- Pregnant women and persons after surgery or with limited mobility CANNOT participate in the flight
- For passengers with disabilities, we offer individual arrangements – please contact us

How does a balloon flight work?
1. Book your flight date
Reserve your chosen flight date.2. Confirmation
Our pilots will contact you by phone or SMS before the scheduled flight date. Based on the current weather, they will confirm whether the flight will take place or be canceled.– For evening flights: confirmation is sent the same day between 12:00–14:00.
– For morning flights: confirmation is sent the previous afternoon or evening (no later than 21:00).
In the confirmation call or SMS you will be given the exact meeting time and take-off location. Please do not arrive earlier than the scheduled meeting time.3. Meeting at the launch site
We’ll meet at the departure point and explain how everything will proceed (where to stand during inflation, when to board the balloon, etc.).4. Balloon preparation and take-off
Inflating the balloon takes about 15–20 minutes. The pilot and crew will prepare everything carefully and check all equipment. If you’re interested, you can take part in the preparation.5. The flight
During the flight you can take photos, wave to people, ask the pilot questions – but above all, enjoy the moment! A typical flight lasts about 60 minutes, but depending on the weather and terrain, it can be shortened or extended by up to 15 minutes. Balloons usually fly between 150–500 meters above ground for the best view of details on the landscape. If you’d like to fly higher and conditions allow, the pilot will gladly take you up.6. Balloonist’s baptism and toast
After landing, you will be “elevated to balloonist nobility” and we’ll toast to your new noble title and safe landing. Ballooning traditions say that anyone flying for the first time is “born again” and therefore must be elevated and granted a new noble title.7. Return transport
At the end, after a successful flight and a glass of champagne, we’ll board the support vehicle and drive you back to the meeting point. -
What to Wear and Bring?
Keep in mind that the entire experience takes place outdoors. Take-off and landing usually happen in a field. The best choice is sporty, darker-colored clothing (it may get dirty) – similar to what you’d wear for a walk in the woods. In general, we recommend long trousers and an extra layer (after sunset, the landing site can cool down quickly). Shoes are crucial: sturdy sports shoes are a must, preferably waterproof. It is strictly forbidden to fly in slip-on shoes (Crocs, flip-flops, sandals) or high heels.
During the flight, feel free to take photos or videos – there is enough space in the basket for a camera, phone, or small backpack. -
Can Anyone Fly in a Balloon?
NO. The topic of medical fitness is covered in this complete document. If you have any doubts about your health condition, please check it first.
A few general rules:
– Every passenger must be in good physical condition, able to climb over the basket edge and stand for the entire duration of the flight. Please also consider the possibility of a harder landing.
– If a passenger has any of the following conditions, we do not recommend flying: recent surgery, hip problems, knee or back issues, pregnancy.
– Passengers under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or psychotropic substances are not permitted to fly. The pilot has the right to exclude any passenger suspected of being under such influence.
– If a passenger boards the basket while concealing their true health condition from the pilot, they assume full responsibility.If you have any of the above-mentioned issues, you may transfer your ticket to another person – tickets are transferable. If you do not wish to give the ticket to someone else, please contact our customer service center and we will find a solution for you.
